The renovation of Hotel Monaco's restaurant provided an opportunity to work with OZ Design as the Project Manager for the Architect of Record. The teams collaborated with the client, food & beverage consultants, kitchen consultants, and lighting designers to develop a concept blending Belgium’s lively bistros with Chicago’s historic restaurant industry to create a modern industrial space with nautical elements.
Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, creating a seamless blend of old-world charm and contemporary elegance. The interior design boasts a soothing color palette, with hues meticulously chosen to draw inspiration from the serene shades of mussels, fostering an ambiance of tranquility and sophistication.
The space is adorned with intricate handcrafted rope art, adding a touch of artisanal craftsmanship that resonates with the site’s historical significance. One of the most captivating features is a stunning, custom-made chandelier, intricately constructed from clear glass bottles. This magnificent piece serves as a tribute to the timeless "message in a bottle" concept, embodying a sense of nostalgia while infusing the space with a refined elegance. Through this careful blend of artistic elements and rich history, the project at Fisk & Co encapsulates a unique and inviting atmosphere that is both timeless and contemporary.
